Karen Fitzpatrick, RN, MSN, is both a patient diagnosed with MASH as well as a patient advocate. Ms. Fitzpatrick draws upon her personnel and professional experience in advocating for the care and treatment of people living with MASH, including participation in clinical research. Having also faced health-related challenges with co-existing health diagnoses, she is dedicated to actively sharing her personnel insights and experience in these areas. Advocacy for improved treatment and care through nursing and clinical research are her lifelong passion, and she has worked in these fields for over 30 years.
Professionally, Ms. Fitzpatrick attained her BSN degree at Towson State University and went on to complete her MSN degree with a specialty in Clinical Research Management at Duke University. Ms. Fitzpatrick is employed through the Coalition of Cancer Cooperative Groups (CCCG), which is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life and survival of patients by increasing participation in clinical trials. Ms. Fitzpatrick currently serves as the Senior Director of Clinical Research for ECOG-ACRIN Cancer Research Group and PrECOG LLC, both nonprofit organizations associated with CCCG.
