Dr. Amreen Dinani is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Department of Gastroenterology at Duke University School of Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine training at NewYork Presbyterian Queens in New York, Gastroenteorlogy training at McMaster Unievrsity in Canada, and Hepatology training at University of Toronto in Canada. She is also board certified in Obesity Medicine.
Dr. Dinani has developed both a clinical and research niche in Metabolic Dysfunction Associated Steatotic Liver Disease ( MASLD). Her expertise in noninvasive tests (NITs) to assess for liver fibrosis has put her at the forefront of development and implementation of clincial care pathways to link those with MASH and fibrosis to specialty care. She has leveraged EMR to streamline screening programs and has a care navigated pathway to treat patients holistically addressing MASH related complcaitions and cardiometabolic diseases. She is the principle investigator of several industry sponsored trials in MASLD and has multiple collaborations within her institution and across the United States to identify populations at high-risk for MASLD, or at risk MASH. She is also a co- investigator in a NIH funded grant, Liver Cirrhosis Network. She currently collaborates with colleagues throughout Duke Healthcare System to provide clinical care for persons with liver disease including the departments of Primary Care, Diabetologists, Cardiology and Pulmonology Medicine.
She is also an esteemed member of the AASLD, MASHNET and serves on the advisory committee for American Liver Foundation and reviewer for multiple societies.
