Suren Sivarajah, MD, is currently Senior Medical Director at AstraZeneca in CVMD. He completed his undergraduate studies at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA and graduated magna cum laude. Dr. Sivarajah received his medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, PA, where he also completed his internal medicine residency and a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism.
Prior to joining AstraZeneca, Dr. Sivarajah served as the Diabetes Director at Penn State College of Medicine. In this role, he provided oversight on all diabetes-related clinical and scholarly activity, with a focus on delivering optimal integrated diabetes treatment across the spectrum of inpatient and outpatient care. Dr. Sivarajah also worked with medical students, residents, and fellows to improve diabetes education and scholarly activity.
One of Dr. Sivarajah's passions is teaching medical students, medical residents, nurses, pharmacists, and advanced practitioners. He has been published in numerous peer reviewed journals.
He has received numerous teaching awards including being awarded the Teacher of the Year Award at Reading Hospital and Medical Center. He is an active member of Endocrine Society and the American Diabetes Association.
